Welcome gator nation!
This is Chomp Talk with Walk, where you can find original articles on Florida Gators sports. My name is Walker Perryman and though I grew up in the Carolinas, I am a fourth-generation Gator currently in my senior year at the University of Florida. Seven years ago, I created an Instagram fanpage called @ChompCentral where I have remained dedicated to curating the best original Gators sports content and bringing together fans. As a Journalism student at UF, I have sought out ways to grow my knowledge and access to Gator sports. I am a current Florida Cicerone – the official student ambassadors to University – as well as the past chair of Swamp Squad – spearheading and managing 60+ student ambassadors during Florida football recruiting season. In the summer of 2024, I had the incredible experience of a full-time internship outside of Gators sports with the Savannah Bananas – the premier sports and entertainment franchise in America.
Being a Gator is exciting but it is not always easy. It comes with euphoria followed by heartbreak, frustration, and a few spikes of the TV remote! There’s nothing like watching iconic moments like Antonio Callaway running down the sideline to beat Tennessee in 2015, Chris Chiozza sending Florida to the 2017 Elite 8 at the buzzer, and JJ Schwarz securing the final out of the 2017 College World Series to give UF its first baseball title. I am confident we have more of those moments in our future, and if you like someone who tells it like it is and loves the Gators to the core – stick around. Go Gators!
